Baby Aspirin for 2 year old?
Dec 31st, 2019 at 8:53pm

Hi Everyone,

New to this forum, and I'm glad I found it!.

My 2 year old was recently diagnosed with MoyaMoya after her annual MRI for NF1.

The doctors and neurologist told us to give her half a baby aspirin daily. We're seeing the stroke team at sick kids in March..

Just curious if giving baby aspirin for a toddler so young on a daily basis will have any side effects? The risk of Reyes Syndrome scares us.. and we haven't started her on aspirin yet. Any parents have any experience with giving their 2 year old daily doses of baby aspirin?

Thanks in advance!

This is a very late reply, but you will need to watch for ulcers. Asprin in even low doses will hurt children's stomachs. I think your Dr will also recommend Pepcid to prevent this.
