DR. SUESS ON MOYAMOYA DISEASE
Sep 11th, 2005 at 7:17pm

To Kevin (Cubbie) from your sister Lore.

"It came one day!
It will not stay!
Moyamoya will not wreck my day!"

"I will not deal with moyamoya today!
So will you kindly go away?"

"But moyamoya is here to stay!
You cannot make it go away!
The days go by.
Sometimes I wan to cry.
But moyamoya will not rule this guy!
Moyamoya came one day!
You will make it go away!"

"I will not let moyamoya wreck my day!
I will ignore it anyway!
I will not let it rule this guy!
And Mr. I will tell you why!
Because we live in modern day
they can fix this moyamoya today!"

"They cannot fix it on a dime.
This is sad, it's a crime!
Here it comes!
That puff of smoke!
You must prepare not to stroke!"

"I will not let moyamoya wreck my day!
Prepare for what? No how no way!
Moyamoya will not wreck my day!
I will surely try
cause moyamoya will not rule this guy!
Blood pressure will not rise!
No one will die!
Mr. take this moyamoya today
and please do go away!"

"I worn you now of moyamoya today.
The blood flow will go and off it'll stay!
You will not get good news by mail!
Your neuro system will surely fail!
Moyamoya is here today.
Listen Up! Attention pay!"

"I will not let moyamoya wreck my day!
I will not now so go away!
Moyamoya will not wreck my day!
I will surely try
cause moyamoya will not rule this guy!
I'm on a cure for moyamoya high!
Moyamoya bye bye!"

"All blood flow will be restored.
Moyamoya will no longer be ignored!
Speech and movement won't be gone.
My neuro system will be on.
I will receive good news by mail.
My blood flow will not fail.
Why talk about this moyamoya today?
Where'd you get this nonsense anyway?
Have you talked with DJ?"

"Moyamoya is here today!
It will not be the Judgment Day!
These facts are good. I know it's so!
I read it in the NY Times you know!
They say the etiology is unknown.
Genetic factors may make one prone.
We want a cure.
We'll fight to be heard!
It will surely be a task!
Those not prepared to find a cure can kiss my...Big Toe!

"You are looney moyamoya I say!
Give it up and go away!
The blood will flow.
My neuro system will be a go.
Now what is that?
You've occluded my brain?
Do you think you could refrain?"

"I hired a moyamoya specialist today!
I'm preapred to defy you moyamoya, eh?
You just don't get it moyamoya.
Narrowing carotids will stop!
Everyone will be a cop.
When moyamoya hits you're not on you own!
I'm storing brain food at home!
So listen close "bout moyamoya today.
Get ready! I'm on top of it I say!"

"I will not let moyamoya wreck my day!
Be gone moyamoya you fool! Be on your way!
You won't cause me to lose my mind!
Dr. Steinberg fixed you moyamoya just in time!
An STA-MCA and I'm good to go!
Real good blood flow you know!
So give it up
Moyamoya you freak!
You're not sending me up a creek!
Come on, really. Okay?
Get over it moyamoya I'm living today!"

"Call me a dreamer. Okay?
Oh friend listen up today!
Some neurologist may be clueless.
But we won't let moyamoya be ruthless!
With a cure we can last.
The carotids will not close fast.
No stopping the narrowing of carotids? I'm bummed!
A sitting duck we will become!
And all of this cause of moyamoya, I say!
Tell moyamoya now get on your way!"

"I will not let moyamoya wreck my day!
I'll sigh at you and simply say.
Nothing could be so bold.
This moyamoya is getting old!"

"If RNAi could wipe it out
now that thought makes me shout!
No moyamoya? Not bad I say!
And all because of RNA?
So my moyamoya looney friend
this moyamoya will not end
life as we know it, don't you see?
Now will you please stop bugging me?"

"So you see this moyamoya today
doesn't have to affect your life in a negative way!
Part of your carotids soon will go
to research scientist who are working so
all moyamoya victims can live
for guys like me who are active!
We are ready. We have no fear
that someday soon moyamoya will disappear!"

"I will not let moyamoya wreck my day!
I will not, so go on your way!
I've told you I don't believe!
No cure? I cannot conceive!
Researchers won't let it go!
They're right on this, I know I know!
Blood will flow, arteries will change
keep that thought. Stop acting strange!"

"Now I'll go to bed.
Moyamoya is no longer in my head.
Tomorrow's another day.
I've sent moyamoya on it's way!"

WHEW! That was as hard to read out loud as Dr. Suess. It has the same rush to read, because of high energy in it.

But Tyler and I both LOVED it!

Way to Go!

Hi All!

I'm glad you enjoyed Dr. Suess and his take on moyamoya disease and hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it. I know Kevin really enjoyed it!

My intent was to "lift spirts" by sharing the "lighter side" of life even with moyamoya disease. I believe we must always have hope. I also believe that "laughter sets the spirit free" and it can be very therapuetic.

I have always liked Dr. Suess stories from the time I was a child and love rhyming words. I'm also a very upbeat individual. According to some, just plain silly. lol  Smiley So writing this seemed very natural for me.  Of course, the credit must go to Dr. Suess for his inspiration and way of telling a stories.  Smiley

I believe "one can get busy living" or "one can get busy dying".  It's a choice for all with chronic conditions and/or diseases.  By the way, that saying came from the movie Shawshank Redemption, one of my favorite movies. I actually thought Morgan Freeman was talking to me when he said that line in the movie!  Smiley

When I was going through surgery and treatment 7 years ago for kidney cancer (and you all thought I was simply a caregiver to a brother with moyamoya) lol  Smiley - I remember receiving get well cards and many were actually depressing!  Smiley Then I received a very funny get well card from a friend and laughed histerically for what seemed like days.  Smiley I will never forget how good it felt to laugh and to realize just how short life is and  how important it is to live each day to the fullest and not be consumed with my disease. "Don't worry, be happy!" Now where have we heard that? lol  Smiley I'm very happy to report I am cancer free today.  See, there is hope! Don't ever forget it.  Smiley

Well enough preaching! ( I know, you're are not a priest and this is not a confessional) lol  Smiley

By the way, I promise to keep my daytime job. lol  Smiley

Deb, and anyone who would like, please feel free to share Dr. Suess on moyamoya.  Just have fun with it.  Smiley

Hugs and God Bless All,  Smiley
